Why in the World Is This Website Named "Springtime Ministries"?

       Uh … aren't Dennis and Janine kind of old to call their website "Springtime Ministries? Have they looked in the mirror lately????

        Do not fear, dear friends--we are not crazy (well, not too much!). We actually do realize we are older--physically, that is. But remember what our Brother Paul wrote? "... for though our outward man perish [oh, horrors!  wrinkles!!!!], yet the inward man is renewed day by day" (I Co. 4:16). What great news!!! Inside we are actually getting younger! Woo-hoo! No wrinkles there--in fact, our inner "wrinkles" are actually getting more ironed out every day!

    You've probably heard it said that a minister is never retired until the day he passes from this life into the next. It's true! While Dennis and I have reached that "golden" time of life called "retired," at least insofar as our secular careers are concerned, we are definitely NOT retired in the Kingdom of Heaven! We are determined to continue serving the Lord while we have breath! And God is faithful--He graciously continues to give us new avenues of ministry, even at this mature age! 

          We might not have our name in lights, we might not be famous, but there are many ways in which we can serve our Lord. Jesus himself, knowing who He was and where He was going, knelt to wash the dirty stinky feet of his disciples (John 13:2-7). As Dennis is fond of saying, "We are not above our Master." We are grateful to serve and do a behind the scenes ministry that is not remunerated financially or given worldly accolades. The reward we yearn for is to hear Jesus say to us one day, "Faithful servant." 

          And that is why we absolutely refuse to call our later years our "golden years." NO, siree--we will not be put out to pasture! These are our springtime years--the years when we are seeing all of God's goodness come to fruition in our lives! And there is a burning in our spirit that compels us to share with with you what we have learned and received of Him!

We now challenge you, dear ones, to enter  into the springtime of your lives!
